Terms of Service
1. Who we are
alva (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the professional matchmaking platform at meetalva.com. Contact: hello@meetalva.com.
By using our Service, including interacting with our WhatsApp assistant, participating in event matching, or browsing meetalva.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What alva does
alva is a professional matchmaking platform for business events and professional communities. We help participants find relevant connections by:
- Collecting your professional profile through conversation and public sources
- Analysing your business needs and offerings using AI
- Matching you with compatible professionals at the same event or within the same community
- Facilitating introductions via curated match cards
- Providing access to community content, perks, and resources
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and attending a supported event or registered in a supported community to use the Service. The Service is intended for professional and business use only.
4. How you access the Service
Your phone number is your primary identifier. You may access the Service via WhatsApp, Line, email, phone, or other channels we make available. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide. One account per phone number. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading professional information
- Use the Service for any purpose other than professional networking
- Harass, spam, or send unsolicited messages to other participants
- Attempt to reverse-engineer our matching algorithms
- Scrape, extract, or collect other users' data from the platform
- Use the Service to promote illegal activities
- Circumvent any technical measures we use to protect the Service
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations, with or without notice.
6. AI-powered features
Our Service uses artificial intelligence to:
- Extract and structure your business profile from conversations and public sources
- Generate match recommendations between participants
- Power our conversational assistant across messaging channels and, in the future, phone calls
This processing includes multi-layer semantic analysis of your professional information, including your capabilities, needs, industry signals, and inferred professional context. This analysis is used solely to improve match quality.
Important: AI-generated outputs (match recommendations, profile summaries) are provided as suggestions, not guarantees. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or quality of any match. You are responsible for evaluating any connection or business relationship that results from our Service.
7. Communications liability
AI interactions: Any communications with alva, including chat messages, emails, and AI-powered phone calls (current or future), cannot create binding agreements, contracts, or legal obligations beyond these Terms. You may not claim that any commitment, offer, or agreement arose from an interaction with our AI assistant or any automated system.
User-to-user interactions: alva facilitates introductions but is not a party to any communication between users. We are not liable for any commitments, agreements, representations, or outcomes arising from user-to-user communications facilitated through or originating from our platform.
Only written agreements explicitly authorised by alva's legal team are valid and enforceable. Contact: hello@meetalva.com.
8. Event and community participation
- Matching may be tied to specific events and may require an activation code from the event organiser
- Match availability depends on the number of participants and the event timeline
- We reserve the right to limit the number of matches shown
- If you have previously used alva, we will ask whether you want to reuse your existing profile for a new event or community
- You can update your profile at any time
- Your profile persists across events and communities until you explicitly request deletion
9. Organiser access
Event and community organisers have access to:
- Aggregated engagement analytics about participant activity
- Individual participant profile summaries (not full conversation transcripts)
- Exportable data covering profiles, company information, and contact details for participants they introduced to the platform
Individual match decisions (likes/passes) are never shared with organisers.
10. Your content
By sharing information with alva via WhatsApp, Line, email, phone, or any other channel, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, process, and store that information for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This includes processing by our AI systems and third-party service providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of any information you provide. We will not share your individual match decisions with other participants unless a mutual match occurs.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, including our matching algorithms, AI models, user interface, and branding, is owned by alva and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Service without prior written consent.
12. Business model
alva is an early-stage platform. Our current and potential revenue models include organiser licensing, participant access fees, communication tools for organisers, data insights, and other professional services. We will update these Terms if our practices materially change.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that:
- You will receive any specific number of matches
- Matches will lead to successful business relationships
- The Service will be available without interruption
- AI-generated profiles or recommendations will be error-free
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, alva shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost profits, lost business opportunities, loss of data, or outcomes from any AI or user-to-user communications.
Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or SGD 100 if you have paid nothing.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless alva and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
16. Opt out and termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time by replying “stop” on WhatsApp or Line
- You may request deletion of your data as described in our Privacy Policy
- We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, with or without notice
- Sections 13, 14, and 15 survive termination
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore.
18. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via WhatsApp or email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
